Trading in May 2021

In May 2021, a total volume of 349,585 MWh could be achieved for the morning auction at 10:15 a.m. for the delivery areas Austria and Germany together. Compared to the same month of the previous year (487,344 MWh), this means a decline in the total trading volume of 30%. On the delivery day with the highest turnover (May 22nd), 19,346 MWh were auctioned.

 

For the 12:00 o'clock market coupling auction a total volume of 3,132,181 MWh was achieved for the delivery areas Austria and Germany together. 240,964 MWh were auctioned on the delivery day with the highest turnover (May 4th).

 

Looking at both auctions together, a total of 3,481,766 MWh were traded at EXAA in May 2021.

In May 2021, the average monthly prices for the 10:15 auction in the Austrian market area for the bEXAbase (00-24h) were 56.23 EUR/MWh and for the bEXApeak (08-20h) 52.98 EUR/MWh. In the German market area, the prices for the bEXAbase (00-24h) were 53.65 EUR/MWh and for the bEXApeak (08-20h) 48.66 EUR/MWh.

In May 2021, the average monthly prices for the auction at 12:00 o'clock in the Austrian market area for the bEXAbase (00-24h) were 54.83 EUR/MWh and for the bEXApeak (08-20h) 51.45 EUR/MWh; in the German market area, the prices for the bEXAbase (00-24h) were 53.35 EUR/MWh and for the bEXApeak (08-20h) 48.67 EUR/MWh.
